Dark mode, everyone’s favourite theme is now available on the Android and iOS applications of WhatsApp. This feature is now available to all users after months of beta testing. The dark mode is a must-try feature, especially for night owls spending their time on the messaging app.
Dark Mode has been one of the most requested features in WhatsApp over the last few years. Finally, Facebook has announced this much-awaited feature which is designed to reduce eye strain in low light conditions and prevent the awkwardness of having the phone to light up the room. The announcement was made along with a short video “Hello Darkness” accompanied with the tune of Sound Of Silence by folk singer Paul Simon., showcasing users being blasted by their screen lights.
The WhatsApp dark theme will be mostly black on iPhones and darker grey on Android devices. WhatsApp will automatically switch over to the theme if the dark mode has been enabled at the system level on iOS 13 or Android 10. For the users on Android 9, they can enable the dark mode by changing the settings. You can update your WhatsApp from the App Store or the Play Store to switch on the dark mode.
